Dr. Rapundalo is a seasoned executive and recognized thought leader with broad experience in the life sciences and an extensive background in pharmaceutical R&D. He received his Hon. BSc at Laurentian University, PhD from the Medical College of Virginia, and a post-doctoral fellowship from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He spent 20 years in scientific, management and strategic planning positions with Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research and then Pfizer Inc. in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Rapundalo has a strong international record of innovation in several technology areas with over 60 peer-reviewed publications to his credit.
Since joining MichBio in 2006, Dr. Rapundalo has successfully raised the visibility of Michigan’s bio-industry and its many assets, capabilities and talent. At MichBio, he launched new program initiatives and member services, developed it into a one-stop business resource center, and built a widely acknowledged reputation for advocacy on public policy that supports growth of the state’s bio-industry.
Dr. Rapundalo has been a community advocate and civic leader for almost 25 years and was elected formerly in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He serves on numerous bio-industry-related local, regional and national advisory/peer-review boards.
