The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) will debut the Journal of Regulatory Affairs in January 2026, a peer-reviewed publication designed to provide evidence-based insight on the evolving global regulatory landscape. Building on the success of RF Quarterly, this new journal will be published bimonthly and will also feature select Online-Only articles, giving regulatory professionals timely access to the latest research, trends, and practical applications shaping the industry.

Expanding Global and Practical Coverage

The Journal of Regulatory Affairs aims to broaden both regional representation and topic diversity within regulatory science. Its mission is to publish original, in-depth content exclusive to RAPS members while offering a global perspective on pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology regulation.

The publication will continue RAPS’ longstanding commitment to serving as a platform “by regulatory professionals, for regulatory professionals.” It will feature:

  • Topic-focused articles aligned with the 2026 Editorial Calendar
  • Ad hoc submissions on emerging or specialized issues
  • Full or adapted dissertations and capstone projects
  • Articles developed from Convergence and Euro Convergence presentations
  • Practical, “how-to” guidance applicable to daily regulatory work

With a reach of more than 30,000 professionals worldwide, the journal represents a significant expansion of RAPS’ scholarly resources and an opportunity for experts to share insights that directly support real-world decision-making.

Upholding Quality, Integrity, and Ethical Standards

RAPS has established a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure every article meets the organization’s high standards for accuracy, originality, and objectivity. The Journal of Regulatory Affairs will use a double-blind peer review, with reviewers who are seasoned regulatory subject-matter experts.

In line with RAPS’ ethics policies, submissions containing AI-generated content, plagiarism, or promotional material will not be considered. Authors must base their work on original regulatory knowledge and cite verified, primary sources. Additionally, any mention of artificial intelligence as a topic must include a balanced evaluation of its advantages, limitations, and regulatory implications.

A Step Forward for Regulatory Scholarship

By offering a dedicated space for data-driven, practice-oriented research, the Journal of Regulatory Affairs reflects RAPS’ commitment to advancing the profession and ensuring regulatory professionals have access to high-quality, actionable information. The new publication is expected to become a cornerstone reference for regulators, industry experts, and academic contributors alike.
